- Treasurer’s Position – With the resignation of Linda, I am going to appoint Sue Bonvellet as the new Village Treasurer. Linda has graciously agreed to stay on as our Treasurer until such time as she can start the training process. Hopefully, this training will be able to start sooner than later.
- Covid-19 Update – While we are waiting for a Federal Judge to rule on the legality of our Governors Stay at Home order, there is a County wide action group that has formed to work with our businesses for the gradual re-opening. This group is comprised of the Rep Parkhurst, Senator Joyce, the 2 Hospitals, the County Health Dept, County Board Members, area Mayors and a few other people. The goal of this group is twofold. 1. To get Kankakee County out of the Chicago quadrant that the Governor has us in currently. 2. Develop a plan for gradually opening up the and businesses and others that have been closed for far too long by this lock down.
- Laundromat Building – Still waiting on a call back form Mr. Parish on this building.
- Delinquent House – No new update at this time. I will continue to work on this issue.
- Delinquent Water Bills – At this time, we will not be shutting off anyone’s water. With people out of work and with so many of our residents quarantined in their homes, we need to be sympathetic to all our resident’s needs.
